With 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing communications and corporate affairs, Rodney has worked on both the client and agency side of the business. Since 2008 he has also lectured part time at the University of Colorado, Denver within the Department of Communication. He brings both a client and service perspective as a former corporate communications and marketing public relations executive and senior account consultant.

Rodney works with nonprofit, health care, financial and public transit clients. Previously he was Director of Marketing for Allonhill, a mortgage due diligence and credit risk review firm in Denver. From 2007 to 2009 he was senior counselor at JohnstonWells Public Relations, leading business development efforts that brought in over $230,000 in annual billings in 2008.

He managed the firm’s second-largest account, and his agency experience included insurance, healthcare, engineering, financial services and technology client work.

Rodney was vice president of corporate communications at First Data Corporation, the previously publicly held, Fortune 500 worldwide leader of electronic commerce and payment solutions. He led strategic public relations and employee communication programs that represented 40 percent of the company’s $8 billion revenue. In addition, Rodney completed a two-year assignment as the communications lead during First Data’s $6 billion acquisition and integration of Concord.

Prior career accomplishments include creating public relations programs for a newly NYSE-listed company, health services awareness campaigns and disaster public affairs for the American Red Cross, and freelance writing assignments for business and creative publications.

Rodney is a graduate of the 2005-2006 Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Leadership Denver. He served from 2003 to 2009 on the Board of Directors for the Bridge Project, an organization that provides educational opportunities for some of Denver’s most at-risk youth through tutoring and literacy programs.

An Alabama native, Rodney holds a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in broadcast and film communication from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
